YIL002 Catch 22 – Geeks, how to get the news to newbies
Internet lessons in this Web 2.0 world are easy. You can learn all you need by watching videos, and attending webinars. The least you need is to be able to open and read emails, and click on an link.
However newbies don’t even know how to do this. Newbies pester geeks to show them how to use the internet. Geeks need to be strong and only teach newbies to be able to open and read emails, and click on an link. After that they can use the web to learn themselves.
Being self-taught has enormous street cred. It’s never said but one of the big deals about Web 2.0 learning is the prolific videos and webinars available for free or little cost.
Sites like this, or Your Internet Lessons can be used to get to any level as long as you have basic skills. If you’re a geek and you’ve got newbie mates who want to get on the Web do one of these;
- teach them to be able to open and read emails, and click on an link
- copy a video such as this and give it to them.
